Overview
The Department of Consumer Affairs is the Ministry’s consumer protection and advocacy arm. Since the CCAC was created and the Consumer Affairs Act 2011 passed, the Department has focused on consumer awareness, working with the GNBS, the CCAC, the Government Analyst – Food and Drug Department and the Consumer Advisory Bureau.
Its Education and Research sections teach consumers their rights and responsibilities under the Consumer Affairs Act 2011, run World Consumer Rights Day activities, and use research and consumer contact to shape education programmes.
